Treat Dad this Father’s Day with a bevy of BBQ and steam-themed food trucks, spicy delights, and smokin’ good fun on the Power House Lawns, as part of Ipswich City Council’s annual Galvanized Festival.

Wet your whistle at the bar with craft beer, local artisan gin, and other delightful drinks while grooving to live rock music, dance performances, and captivating entertainers on the main stage.

Cruise through the expansive display of vintage vehicles and satisfy your competitive edge with games and activities around the venue. Don’t miss the spectacular steam train as it rolls into The Workshops platform.

What's on

  • Smokin’ BBQ Feast: Savour mouth-watering smoked BBQ & grilled meats, and sides from top local vendors, as well as BBQ demonstrations by Brisbane’s award-winning meat smoking team, Undisputed BBQ.
  • Steamed Food Delights: It’s not a steam soiree without fresh and delicious steamed bao with locally sourced ingredients and a unique blend of spices.
  • Craft Beer & Local Gin Bar: Sip on local craft beer from Stony Creek Brewing and award-winning artisan gin by Imbibis Craft Distillery at our pop-up bar.
  • Rock ‘n’ Roll Revelry: Groove to live rock ‘n’ roll music on stage and bop along to performances by talented artists – line-up includes Dezzie D and the Stingrayz for classic sounds of 40’s, 50’s and 60’s hits, get ready for belly laughs with the CrackUp Sisters, and enjoy folk and blues duo JB Paterson. Performances on stage between 10am – 2pm.
  • All Aboard the Steam Locos: Take a nostalgic ride through the region on a Queensland Rail Steam Loco. Two steam trains operated by Queensland Rail in partnership with the Australian Railway Historical Society QLD Division will depart and return to the North Ipswich Railyards. Train ride tickets include entry to the Steam & Smoke BBQ. Purchase your train tickets by visiting the Sunshine Express website.
  • Historic Motorcycle Classics: Marvel at the expansive collection of historic motorcycles on display from eras gone by, presented by the Historic Motor Cycle Club of Queensland and local Ipswich Chapter.
  • Vintage Vehicle Showcase: Be dazzled by an impressive collection of privately owned vintage cars, lovingly restored and ready to be admired.

Join us for a day filled with fun, food, and festivities to celebrate Father's Day as part of Ipswich City Council’s Galvanized Festival. Suitable for all ages.
