About our venues
Queensland Museum Rail Workshops holds a significant place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike. A much-loved destination, it stands as a living testament to Ipswich's rich history, industrial heritage, and the pivotal role it played in the evolution of the region, as the birthplace of Queensland Rail - once the site of Queensland's largest employer. Our iconic heritage site is a popular location for weddings and special events continuing its legacy as a place for community, gathering, learning, and celebration.
We are currently reviewing our venue hire offering, including pricing, packaging and preferred suppliers to ensure we can continue to provide outstanding experiences for our clients. This is an exciting and overdue process for our organisation. Unfortunately, as a result we are unable to accept any new bookings until the new financial year, commencing 1 July 2025.
