Pop on Board for an unforgettable family adventure at Day Out With Thomas: The Bubble Tour! Journey through a magical bubble wonderland with Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends for a day packed with activities, live performances, and endless fun from 9am – 2:30pm!
Meet your favourite blue engine, Thomas, and dive into an enchanting world straight from the Island of Sodor. Explore bubble-themed performances and activities to experience Queensland Museum Rail Workshops like never before!
Sir Topham Hatt returns and is joined by charming duo Rusty & Dusty for special performances, singing and delightful meet-and-greet sessions. Be mesmerised by a spectacular bubble performer, unleash your creativity with exciting craft activities, and engage in a treasure trove of bubble-filled fun!

- Meet Your Favorites: Say hello to Thomas the Tank Engine, Rusty & Dusty, and the ever-dignified Sir Topham Hatt in person!
- Bubble Wonderland: Step into a magical bubble paradise! Enjoy bubble machines, a roaming bubble performer, an outdoor bubble play area, and our enchanting Bubble Dome filled with balloons for endless fun.
- Ride the Land Train: Hop aboard the Land Train for a delightful journey, and don’t forget to stop by for a fun face painting session!
- Character Hunt: Grab your Thomas Passport and embark on an exciting Character Hunt throughout the museum.

Annual Pass Holders
Queensland Museum Rail Workshops Annual Pass holders receive free entry to Day Out With Thomas, no bookings required. Please note: Day Out with Thomas is not included in Queensland Museum Spark Lab memberships.
Weather
Please note, the operation of the Land Train and other outdoor activities is weather-dependent and may be closed at the museum's discretion.
In the event of rain, Queensland Museum Rail Workshops features expansive covered areas that ensure Day Out With Thomas will continue with plenty of fun activities.
Arrive Early for Full Enjoyment
To make the most of your experience at Day Out With Thomas: The Bubble Tour, we encourage visitors to arrive by 12pm to enjoy all the magic and adventure. A schedule of performances will help you plan your visit.
Sensory Friendly Day Out With Thomas
Join us for a Sensory Friendly Day Out With Thomas on Wednesday 15 January, 2025! This event is designed to support visitors and families requiring a calming environment and lower sound levels. Featuring timed entry tickets to manage audience numbers for a more peaceful experience with fewer visitors.
The Relaxing Room and a Quiet Space are also available daily.
