About

Meet a Historian with this Museum Meet Up school program series.

What does an average Queensland Museum scientist’s “office” look like? Is it an outback fossil dig, mountain trek or underwater dive? Perhaps exploring a location using radar or drone technologies?

Could it be finding evidence of the past in buildings, documents or underground?

Discover what a working week may entail for historians, Elizabeth Bissel and Janet Mack. They showcase working behind the scenes at Queensland Museum, in the field or lab, and ways they use and interpret a range of sources. See examples of how scientific and historical inquiry skills are used to investigate, discover and document Queensland’s story. Explore ways we use systems to organise collections and make sense of the changing world around us.

A whole-day itinerary will be provided with your booking. Bring Science as a Human Endeavour to life through presentations, exhibitions, collections and opportunities to ask questions.
