About

Meet Queensland Museum’s First Nations Team in this special NAIDOC week edition of the Museum Meet Up school program series.

As a hub for research, collections, storytelling and repatriation, Queensland Museum Kurilpa is committed to embedding the voices and cultures of First Nations people into everything we do as part of our reconciliation journey.

In this exclusive program, students will hear about the daily work of our newly formed First Nations team. From behind-the-scenes at the museum to repatriation and community engagement, the team will highlight the important contributions and rich stories of Aboriginal People and Torres Strait Islander People through the museum’s engagement in research, collections, exhibitions, programming and returning Ancestors and cultural materials to Country.

Through a whole-day itinerary students will experience real-world applications of knowledge and understanding from First Nations people’s continuous connection to Australia’s identity, symbols, country, and place.
