10am – 4:20pm
Session duration: 35 mins
Suitable for children 4–8 years
Presented by World Science Festival Brisbane
A blend of bold visual design, collaborative storytelling and interactive play, World Science Festival Brisbane presents Patch Theatre’s Queensland debut of Superluminal, an enchanting installation for children 4–8 years old and their families.
As children enter Superluminal, they receive colour-changing lanterns to help them uncover exciting images and icons throughout the installation. Your host will guide students on a journey through a series of interactive spaces to reveal hidden animal tracks and discover animals from the past, present and possible future. Then, create your own mythical creatures, bringing them to life with recorded sounds and spectacular rainbow lighting, and capture their fantastical shadows on a magical glow wall.
Superluminal is an engaging experience designed to ignite children’s curiosity. A theatrical installation full of Patch’s renowned interactive light play, Superluminal investigates nature’s extraordinary creatures, systems and beauty, and how time shapes them.
This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body.
