Recommended for ages 3 to 5
Join us at Queensland Museum Kurilpa for some storytelling, song, and role play fun as we explore Archaeology, objects from the past and what we can learn from them.
I can be an Archaeologist
Archaeologists find objects that people used or made a long time ago. These objects can tell us a lot about how people lived. Would you like to dig for some buried objects? What might you find? Can you guess who may have owned them?
Then and Now
We have some interesting objects from the olden days for you to explore. Do you recognise any of them? What might they have been used for? Can you match the objects of ‘now’ with the objects of ‘then’?
Objects Tell Stories
The museum has many different objects used by people long, long ago. These objects are called artefacts, and they tell stories about the people that made or used them. Come and explore some special artefacts in the museum. Do you know what they were used for?
Time Capsule Treasures
In this special last session of the year parents, grandparents and carers are encouraged to help their little ones draw, write, and decorate a special sheet that tells a story about them. They can put the story into their very own time capsule to take home and hide away and perhaps open it up again in 10-, 20- or 30-years’ time.
Program content is designed for ages 3 to 5 years.
All children must be actively supervised by their carer at all times.
Carers and babies in arms do not require a ticket.
Please meet our museum educator at the activity location at 10:10am. Signage in the Level 2 foyer will advise the location of each session.
