Join us for this fascinating insight into the world of Egyptian archaeology.

Have you ever wondered what happens on an archaeological excavation? This talk, delivered by Dr Karin Sowada - Director, Australian Centre for Egyptology - steps through the process of a field season in Egypt, focusing on the Macquarie University Theban Tombs Project in southern Egypt.

Over the last thirty years, the expedition has worked on four tombs belonging to senior officials who served pharaohs of the Egyptian New Kingdom, one dated to the reign Amenhotep III (c. 1390-1352 BC) and three others from the Ramesside period (c. 1295-1069 BC).
