Susan Wright is a Collection Manager with the Entomology (Insect) section at Queensland Museum.
She developed an interest in insect collections and taxonomy while working with The University of Queensland Insect Collection (UQIC). She went on to do an honours project on the taxonomy and biology of hoverflies (Syrphidae, Diptera).
Susan works on groups such as dragonflies, butterflies, ants, wasps and bees. Her work involves caring for the insect research collections and conducting field work collecting insects in Queensland, identifying insects and managing the insect database, sending loans to scientists all over the world, lecturing, answering public enquiries and also supervising work experience students and volunteers.
