Ubiquitous, nostalgic, and deeply tied to history, Nissen huts were essential wartime structures that found new life beyond the battlefield. Used for housing, storage, and even hospitals, these prefabricated huts were designed for rapid assembly and later repurposed for civilian and commercial use. Join us as we explore their social history, from military necessity to everyday life, and uncover the stories behind these enduring structures.
