More information for parents

  • Parents or carers of children under 12 must remain at the museum during the workshop, either in the workshop area, café, or nearby exhibits.
  • Parents with an interest in nature or birding are welcome to join the workshop by purchasing their own ticket to participate alongside their child.

About the presenter

Mick Atzeni, a passionate birder, grew up in Toowoomba and now resides in the Lockyer Valley. President and Life Member of Toowoomba Bird Observers, he has loved birds since childhood and shares his expertise as a birding tutor with U3A.

With a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biology and a Graduate Diploma in IT, Mick worked in Wildlife Protection and as a research scientist for Queensland’s Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. His work included developing tools for managing diseases, odour impacts, and pests.

Now retired, Mick champions bird tourism, inspiring others to connect with and protect local birdlife.
