Our Earth is constantly changing. In this resource, students explore these changes and the evidence left behind. Students participate in three activities: Going Forward, Reproducing the Past and Fossil Evidence.

In Going Forward, students analyse images of different environments and predict the type of rock and/or resource that will form.

In Reproducing the Past, students analyse a five metre core sample. They use information provided from the core sample to infer what the environment was like in the past and how it changed over time.

In Fossil Evidence, students use indirect dating methods to determine the correct sequence of sedimentary rock layers by using the fossils found within them.
