Within this resource, students explore the science behind a number of First World War technologies and innovations. They:

  • Use physics concepts to investigate how light from a source can be reflected.
  • Identify and represent energy transfers and transformations.
  • Explore how electrical energy can be used to communicate coded messages.
  • Apply scientific concepts and engineering skills and principles to design technologies used during the First World War, including periscopes and telegraph machines, and appreciate the stories and scientific contributions associated with the development of these technologies.
