Investigating Ocean Acidification: Student Investigations

In this activity, students investigate the impacts of carbon dioxide on the marine environment. Students have an opportunity to participate in a number of investigations, including:

  • How does carbon dioxide affect water? How does acid affect organisms with calcium carbonate shells?
  • Which shells organisms will be most affected by a change in pH?
  • Develop and conduct an experiment to test the effect of acid on calcium carbonate.
